Building bridges to the future: The interreligious dialogue and the contribution of education

The Interorthodox Centre of the Church of Greece in partnership with the Embassy of ISRAEL in Athens organized an event by the title of: Building bridges to the future: The interreligious dialogue and the contribution of education”

Rabbi David Rosen honored the meeting with his presence.

The event took place on Tuesday 31st October 2017 between 18.30-20.30 at the Interorthodox Centre, Holy Monastery of Pendeli, P. Pendeli

Interorthodox Centre at the 2nd Athens International Conference on “Religious and Cultural Pluralism and Peaceful Coexistence in the Middle East”

The 2nd Athens International Conference on “Religious and Cultural Pluralism and Peaceful Coexistence in the Middle East” was held in Athens, 30 & 31 October 2017.This second conference was attended by heads of Christian Churches, religious leaders and distinguished personalities of the Muslim and Jewish world, as well as distinguished representatives of the international politics, the academic community and the civil society. The Director of the Interorthodox Centre of the Church of Greece, Metropolitan of Thermopylae, Mr. Ioannis, and the permanent scientific associate of the Centre, Mr. Sergios Voilas, also participated in the 2nd conference. During the sessions, among other subjects the following were discussed: • The role of religious leaders in the refugee-immigrant crisis, with particular attention to the reintegration of refugee-immigrants or internally displaced persons, in their countries-regions of origin. • The role of the Media and religious leaders in promoting religious pluralism in the Middle East was highlighted.
